Fitcation, launch support activity log

Overview

Fitcation came to us with a great product and a clear vision, but a store that wasn't quite ready to convert visitors into bookings. Over four focused phases, we audited, redesigned, and automated key parts of their Shopify store to get them launch-ready and set up for long-term growth.

Phase 1 | Launch Readiness Audit

Before touching a single pixel, we needed to understand what was working and what was standing in the way of a confident launch.

  1. We walked through the entire storefront end to end , homepage, collection pages, product flows, cart, and checkout, looking at it through the eyes of a first-time visitor.
  2. We identified the gaps that could block or delay launch: missing settings, incomplete policies, and payment configuration that wasn't ready for real customers.
  3. We delivered a structured action list, grouped by theme, so the Fitcation team could work through it systematically without getting overwhelmed.

Phase 2 | Product Page Conversion Improvements

The product pages had real potential, but a few critical issues were getting in the way of bookings.

  1. The main product page opened with a full-screen hero image, visually striking, but it buried the navigation and made it hard for visitors to orient themselves. Dark text on a dark image made things worse. On top of that, the deposit and full-payment options were presented in a way that created confusion rather than confidence.

  2. After discussing the best way to showcase Fitcation's fantastic retreat options, we redesigned the product page experience with clarity, trust, and booking intent at the centre.

  3. We improved the upsell and downsell experience so visitors could explore room options directly from the product page, no need to navigate away, no friction, no lost bookings.

Phase 3 | Sitewide CTA Upgrades

A great product page means nothing if visitors don't know what to do next. We audited every call to action across the site and brought them up to standard.

  1. We standardised CTA copy and placement across all key templates so the experience felt consistent and intentional, no matter where a visitor landed.
  2. We replaced weak or generic button labels with stronger, clearer CTAs that reduced hesitation and made the next step obvious.
  3. We made sure each CTA did exactly what it was supposed to, distinguishing between "add to cart" and "proceed to checkout" where it mattered most for the booking flow.

Phase 4 | Deposit Follow-Up Automation (Shopify Flow + Messaging)

Fitcation's booking model involves a deposit at the time of purchase, with the remaining balance due later. Without automation, this meant manual follow-up, time-consuming and easy to miss.

  1. We designed the full logic for the deposit-to-full-payment journey and built an automation flow in Shopify Flow to track deposit status and trigger the right follow-up steps at the right time.
  2. We added Shopify Messaging steps to automatically remind customers to complete their remaining payment — keeping the communication timely and on-brand.

  3. We validated the flow timing and messaging to make sure it aligned with the booking experience, reducing manual admin work and improving payment completion rates.

Outcome Summary

By the end of the engagement, Fitcation had a store that was ready to launch with confidence and built to grow:

  1. A clear launch readiness checklist and a solid settings baseline to build from.
  2. Product pages optimised for conversion, with a booking experience that felt intuitive and trustworthy.
  3. Consistent, action-oriented CTAs across the entire site.
  4. An automated deposit follow-up system that reduced admin overhead and improved payment completion, without any manual intervention.

Other Projects we worked on

Transparent Mega Menu

Here we added a unique video feature, a transparent menu that solidifies for better readability, and a mega-menu with custom images. These enhancements are designed to improve user experience and make the site stand out from the Default Dawn theme options.

Sub Collections & Read more

In this video, we’ve added an influencers tab that showcases links and posts, and implemented sub-collections on the collection pages for easier navigation. Additionally, we’ve included a read more option on the Product Page for lengthy SEO product descriptions.

Limitation of Variants resolved

For this store we made optimizing changes to the Sense theme. Additional features were added on the collection page, including extra information to help customers make informed choices. Additionally, users can select product variants more dynamically, allowing more than 100 variant options which is a limitation of Shopify.

Breadcrumbs

In this video, we are excited to share two key updates we've made to the Dawn theme on Shopify. First, we've added breadcrumbs to both the collection and product pages for easier navigation. Additionally, we’ve implemented a special message for U.S. customers regarding potential delivery fees for products made in China.
